School Representative Council - SRC
Regular SRC meetings discuss relevant issues and organise school-based events. Student leaders participate in the Halogen Australia leadership conference each year which exists to inspire and influence a generation of young people to lead themselves and others well. The SRC strive to work on student issues as they arise.
Green Team
The Green Team initiative, that caters for students K-6 with a particular interest in the environment and sustainability. Students are recruited through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process which captures the school’s commitment to enabling student voice and choice. Students develop their capacity to identify their own strengths fostering student voice, empowerment, and a sense of belonging. The students created their own team logo which actively connected them to their learning through meaningful, engaging and rewarding personalised learning experiences.
The Green Team program consistently supports students to make sustainable change in their school by providing opportunities to develop student agency and voice. Student voice is amplified through Green Team meetings, rosters, planning and facilitation of student led experiences.
Students regularly advocate and celebrate their contributions by writing content to be shared in the newsletter and social media, which further demonstrates student advocacy.
